Cari Sample Malver, Patty McNall and Ginger Snip were long time close friends as well as co-conspirators in the textile travel industry. Typically weaving, knitting and riding horses along the way, they explored the world together as the "Tres Amigas."
When their dear friend Patty passed away suddenly in 2013, there was a very large hole in their lives. To honor her creative and generous spirit, they teamed up with Patty's husband DeGrey Phillips to found Patty's Paradise, a Rocky Mountain Fiber Arts Center, at her beloved home. While Patty enjoyed all her global adventures, she was devoted to her haven at Cottonwood Ranch and would often remark that it would be easy to be a hermit there with her gentle yaks. So what could be a more fitting legacy than to weave together her passion for fiber arts, her home and global textiles by opening her amazing ranch up to all creative fiber artists in her memory?
All fiber arts enthusiasts are invited to join Ginger and Cari at Patty's Paradise, with its spectacular mountain setting, breathtaking views and a pasture filled with grazing Tibetan yaks. In this idylic place, a variety of fiber related workshops and retreats are offered including weaving, dyeing, spinning, felting, knitting, crocheting and other fiber arts. Talented local artists as well as instructors from around the globe are brought in to lead the various events.
A portion of the proceeds from each workshop and retreat held here are donated in Patty's name to charitable projects including scholarships for underprivileged weavers and othe worthy causes helping the global textile community. Read more about mission and our current beneficiary...
